OCU posts 5-0 wipeout of St. Gregory's

Stars score season-high five goals

Francis Malalou found his first goal of the year Saturday.
Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY – Adam Black's four goals propelled Oklahoma City University to a 5-0 rout of St. Gregory's on Saturday at Stars Field.
Black, a freshman from Liverpool, England, became the first OCU men's soccer player to score four times in a match since Alex Gang did it Sept. 12, 2009 against Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.). OCU improved to 4-4-3, 2-2-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Black brought his season total to nine. Black put the Stars up 1-0 in the 27th minute on an unassisted goal. He notched his second goal off Steven Short's feed at 36:03 into the match.
In the 70th minute, Black picked up his first career hat trick as Drew Hall set up Black on a crossfield pass from nearly 30 yards away. Black capitalized near the penalty box.
OCU's Francis Malalou, a senior from Gabon, Africa, struck for his first goal of the year unassisted in the 78th minute.
Black scored for the fourth time using Ryan Hunter's assist at the 88:45 mark.
Joe Shulberg, a sophomore from Huntingdon, England, recorded his first shutout as a Star. Shulberg had three saves. OCU compiled its first shutout of the year.
The Stars built a 19-7 advantage in shots, 12-3 in shots on goal.
OCU's single-match record is five held by Dino Delevski, Todd Wallace and Ryan Trudgian.
The Stars face Lubbock Christian (Texas) at 3 p.m. Thursday at LCU Soccer Field in Lubbock, Texas.
