Alex Gang recorded his first goal of the year Saturday.

SHREVEPORT, La. – Oklahoma City University recorded a 3-0 shutout against LSU-Shreveport on Saturday morning, advancing its record to 2-0 on the season.

OCU relied on veterans for two of the three goals and all four assists tallied in the match. All-American Alex Gang, a senior from Seoul, South Korea, scored his first goal of the season in the 20th minute, providing the only score of the first period. The assist went to Stuart Hilton, a senior from Liverpool, England.

John Dill, a senior from Broken Arrow, Okla., extended the lead early in the second period, with an assist getting credited to Steven Short, a junior from Durban, South Africa.
The final goal of the match was off the foot of Edmond, Okla., freshman Drew Hall. Short picked up his second assist on the day with the score.
The Stars offense has seen a different player score each of their six team goals this season. Defensively, OCU only allowed three shots on goal in the match. The shutout is the 16th in the OCU career of Andy Fitzpatrick, a senior from Kansas City, Mo.
OCU will next see action in a Labor Day match-up with Texas College. The game will begin Monday morning at 11 a.m. in Shreveport, La.
