OKLAHOMA CITY – Andy Fitzpatrick of Oklahoma City University captured Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer defensive player of the week honors for Sept. 20-26.
Fitzpatrick, a senior from Kansas City, Mo., posted a three-save shutout over Texas Wesleyan on Saturday. He notched his third shutout this season and 18th of his three-year OCU career.
This year, Fitzpatrick has yielded 1.33 goals per match while grabbing 28 saves. Fitzpatrick picked up his fifth SAC defensive player of the week award with the Stars.
OCU knocked off Texas Wesleyan 1-0 on Saturday at Stars Field to move to 4-2. Drew Hall's goal made the difference in the match.
The Stars begin SAC play by meeting USAO at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Chickasha, Okla.
