OCU overcome Benedictine 77-66

Stars rally from 17-4 early deficit to move to 5-0

Breezy Martin had 10 points and three rebounds Saturday.
ATCHISON, Kan. – Oklahoma City University outscored Benedictine (Kan.) 77-66 on Saturday at Ralph Nolan Gymnasium in the Benedictine Classic. 
Donica Cosby, a senior from Coldwater, Miss., led the Stars in scoring with 16 points. The Stars (5-0) remain undefeated and ranked third in the NAIA Division I women's basketball. 
Taylor Booze, a junior from Duncansville, Texas, added 14 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Desiree Jeffries had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Breezy Martin netted 10 points, three rebounds and an assist for the Stars. 
Benedictine took its largest lead over OCU with a 17-4 lead in the first half through six minutes of play. The Stars rallied to regain the lead with a 3-pointer by sophomore Lauren Gober. OCU led 39-31 at the half. 
The Stars maintained the lead for the rest of the game. OCU sank seven 3-pointers in the game.
OCU will host Mid-America Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Abe Lemons Arena.
