OCU stay undefeated with 48-1 win over Wayland Baptist

Two-time defending national champion Stars move to 10-0

Brittany Goebel picked up the pin in 28 seconds at 72 kilograms.
PLAINVIEW, Texas – Oklahoma City University pounded Wayland Baptist (Texas) 48-1, racking up five pins Thursday at the Hutcherson Center.
The two-time defending Women's College Wrestling Association champion and three-time NWCA National Duals champion Stars remained unbeaten, improving to 10-0 in duals.
Logan Rich, a sophomore from Hope, Maine, finished off Bethany Courkamp 26 seconds into the third period of the 55-kilogram match for OCU's first pin of the dual. At 59, Audrey Morehouse, a sophomore from Moreno Valley, Calif., followed with a pin 31 seconds into the second period.
Brittany Goebel, a freshman from Lena, Ill., ended her 72-kilo bout in 28 seconds. Melissa Simmons, a junior from Ridgefield, Wash., beat Chelsie McMillion in 21 seconds at 80 for OCU.
OCU's Karon Scott, a senior from Austin, Texas, completed the dual at 25 seconds into the second period.
The Stars compete in the NYCA Tournament on Nov. 19-21 in New York City and the CanAm Open on Nov. 20 in Jamestown, N.D.
