OCU edges John Brown 2-1

20th-ranked Stars remain undefeated in SAC play

Malin Andersson posted a goal and an assist Tuesday.

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University continued its flawless conference women's soccer record with a 2-1 victory over John Brown (Ark.) on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Field.

OCU, now 9-2, 5-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, played a close match. John Brown owned an 11-7 advantage in shots over the Stars, ranked 20th in the NAIA.

Senior forward Malin Andersson netted an OCU goal in the 23rd minute, with the assist going to freshman Blerta Rashica. Sheridan Horner was quick to follow with a goal in the 24th minute assisted by Andersson. Andersson recorded one additional shot. Other shots were taken by Josefine Holmgren and Alex Miley.

Senior goalie Brittany Tibbs had three saves out of the 11 shots taken by JBU.

The Stars travel to Shawnee, Okla., to take on St. Gregory's at 2 p.m. Saturday.
