OCU posts 1-1 draw against John Brown

Hunter provides tying goal for Stars

Chris Spendlove and the OCU defense held John Brown (Ark.) to one goal on nine shots Tuesday.

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University and John Brown (Ark.) battled to a 1-1 tie Tuesday afternoon at JBU Alumni Field.

Sophomore midfielder Ryan Hunter shot the unassisted goal to tie the match for OCU (6-3-1, 2-1-1 Sooner Athletic Conference) in the 60th minute of play. Hunter had one other shot for the game.

OCU out-shot JBU 21-9. Francis Malalou had five of the Stars' shots, while Steven Short added four shots. Chris Spendlove took three shots, while Alex Gang accounted for three shots.

Senior goalie Andy Fitzpatrick was responsible for one save in JBU's nine shots.

The Stars travel to Shawnee, Okla., to take on St. Gregory's at 2 p.m. Saturday for another conference contest.
