OCU sweeps SAC women's soccer awards

Horner, Tibbs honored by SAC

Brittany Tibbs has led OCU to six shutouts this year.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University teammates Sheridan Horner and Brittany Tibbs have earned Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer offensive and defensive player of the week, respectively, for Oct. 4-10.

The two helped OCU pick up two wins last week. The Stars enter Tuesday's action at 9-2, 4-0 and atop the SAC.

Tibbs, a senior goalkeeper from Kansas City, Mo., extended her shutout streak to 320 minutes with a shutout win over Rogers State, before ending the run in a 2-1 win over Mid-America Christian.

On the year, Tibbs has allowed a 0.80 goals-against average and posted 26 saves and six shutouts.

Horner, a sophomore defender from Choctaw, Okla., scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Rogers State and added another in the victory over previously unbeaten Mid-America Christian.

For the season, Horner has two goals, four assists and eight points.

OCU meets John Brown (Ark.) at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Siloam Springs, Ark.
