OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University will host John Brown (Ark.) at 2 p.m. Friday at Stars Field in the opening round of the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament.
The Stars, ranked 25th in the NAIA, finished the season 13-3-2, 6-2-1 in the SAC following a 2-1 overtime loss at Southern Nazarene on Tuesday night.
“Our last two games we didn't get results, so now we have to do it the hard way by winning three games to make it nationals,” OCU coach Brian Harvey said. “That starts with John Brown this Friday.”
The Stars are led by forwards Alex Gang and Steven Short.
Gang, a junior from Seoul, South Korea, leads the team with 18 goals on the season and ranks in the top 10 nationally.
Short, a sophomore from Durban, South Africa, ranks first in the NAIA in total assists with 15.
