OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University picked up a 3-0 win at Mid-America Christian on Tuesday afternoon.
Chris Spendlove netted two goals for the Stars (9-1-1, 2-0 SAC) who have won eight games in a row.
Spendlove put OCU on the board in the 32nd minute when he scored off a corner kick from John Dill to make it 1-0.
The Stars, ranked 14th in NAIA men's soccer, did not capitalize on good looks at the goal in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the break. OCU outshot MACU 9-1 in the first half.
OCU added some cushion to the lead when Dill headed in a corner kick from Steven Short to make it 2-0 in the 58th minute. Short, a sophomore from Durbin, South Africa, leads the team with nine assists on the season.
Spendlove added his second goal of the game in the 73rd minute to make it 3-0. With the two goals, Spendlove now has six on the season.
OCU outshot Mid-America Christian 16-2 for the game, including 8-1 shots on goal.
The Stars will host John Brown (Ark.) at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Stars Field.
