OKLAHOMA CITY –Oklahoma City University picked up a 1-0 win against John Brown (Ark.) on Saturday afternoon at Stars Field.

Sarah Burnett provided the only goal of the game off a corner kick by Malin Andersson in the 70th minute to help the Stars (5-4, 2-1 SAC) to its second straight victory.

The game was scoreless at the half with John Brown owning a 6-3 shot advantage. JBU outshot OCU 14-5 for the game.

OCU took advantage of the few shot attempts they were able to get off in the game. Despite just two shots on goal, the Stars pushed across one goal and used a strong defensive effort to defeat John Brown, who was 3-0 in conference play coming into the game.

Andersson, a junior from Huskvarna, Sweden, led the Stars with two shots and an assist. Andersson is second on the team with 11 points.

Brittany Tibbs recorded nine saves to lead a strong defensive effort for OCU.

The Stars travel to St. Gregory's at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
