OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University scored three late goals to put away John Brown (Ark.) 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Stars Field.
The Stars (10-1-1, 3-0 SAC) have now won nine games in a row and have yet to allow a goal in three Sooner Athletic Conference matches this season.
After a scoreless first half, OCU put together a dominant second half led by Alex Gang, who had two goals.
Gang put the Stars on the board in the 74th minute when Luke Garvey set him up perfectly with an open look at the goal.
A minute later Ryan Hunter made it 2-0 when he scored on his own put back.
Gang finished the scoring when he headed in a goal with 13 seconds left to fire up the crowd and put the game away. Gang, a junior from Seoul, South Korea, leads the team in goals (13) and points (28).
OCU outshot John Brown 22-8 in the game, including a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Andy Fitzpatrick turned in another strong performance in goal for OCU with three saves and his fifth shutout of the season.
The Stars travel to Shawnee, Okla., on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. match with St. Gregory's.
