OCU men overpower MidAmerica Nazarene 3-0

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Oklahoma City University's men's soccer team knocked off 22nd-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) 3-0 at North Park Fields in the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneer Invitational on Saturday evening.

Stephen Sheffield, a senior from Jacksonville, Texas, scored the match's first goal in the 13th minute of the game for OCU, ranked 14th in the NAIA.

Luke Garvey, a junior from Liverpool, England, also scored in the first half off an assist by Sheffield. Stuart Hilton, a sophomore from Liverpool, England, scored the third and final goal.

The Stars' defense only allowed eight shots. Goalie Andy Fitzpatrick, a sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., had two saves in the match.

OCU improved to a 6-1 record and will face Texas Wesleyan at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Stars Field.
