Box Score HOUSTON – Oklahoma City University's men's soccer team came back in the second half to defeat NCAA Division I Houston Baptist 3-2 at Sorrels Field on Friday afternoon.
Alex Gang, a sophomore from Seoul, South Korea, provided the Stars the game-winning goal in the 77th minute using an assist from Damon Ellis. OCU, ranked 15th in the NAIA, improved to 1-0 after its season-opening contest.
Houston Baptist started the first half with two quick goals. OCU, however, was able to answer those goals quickly on Gang's unassisted score in the seventh minute of the first half.
OCU goalkeeper Andy Fitzpatrick, a sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., held Houston Bapitst to a one-goal lead going into the second half. Fitzpatrick helped to secure the Stars' win with a total of three saves for the match.
Stuart Hilton, a sophomore from Liverpool, England, tied the game in the 70th minute with a successful penalty kick.
The Stars take on Huston-Tillotson (Texas) at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Stars Field.
