SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – After busting into the NAIA top 25 men's soccer rankings earlier this week, 16th-ranked Oklahoma City University upended No. 13 Hastings (Neb.) on Friday in the John Brown Classic.
Scott Jackson, a junior midfielder from Edmond, Okla., provided the Stars' first goal of the game off Houston Lee's assist at 35:26 into the match.
That would be all OCU (4-0-1) would need as goalkeeper Dustin Nolan recorded his fourth shutout of the year. Nolan, a junior from Wichita, Kan., has surrendered only one goal this year. Nolan notched three saves Friday.
OCU made it 2-0 on Alex Gang's unassisted goal at the 36:26 mark. Then John Dill completed the Stars' scoring with an unassisted goal in the 64th minute.
The Stars face Walsh (Ohio) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the John Brown Classic at Siloam Springs, Ark.
