OKLAHOMA CITY ? Oklahoma City University used a 12-0 run to pull away from Wayland Baptist (Texas) and win 57-39 on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena.
The Stars built on an 18-17 lead by putting together a 12-0 spree starting with 4:48 left in the first.
Chelsea Ledbetter hit a free throw that put OCU ahead 30-17 with 15:54 remaining in the game.
OCU, ranked 21st in NAIA Division I, went to 17-4, 6-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Wayland Baptist fell to 11-12, 2-9.
Romana Vynuchalova, a 6-foot-4 junior from Bratislava, Slovakia, led OCU with 14 points, adding eight rebounds.
Kay McConnell chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds, while
Zanita Johnson also had 12 points.
OCU has been working shorthanded with injuries hampering its numbers.

The Stars led by as much as 21 points with 1:32 remaining. Vynuchalova stuck a putback to give OCU a 55-34 advantage.
