Trudgian highlights three men's soccer all-region picks

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University had three all-NAIA Region VI men's soccer picks, including Sooner Athletic Conference offensive player of the year Ryan Trudgian.

OCU's Houston Lee and Andy Taylor were also named all-region.

Trudgian, a senior forward from St. Austell, England, put together 19 goals and eight assists this year. Trudgian led the conference in total goals and points (46). Trudgian, an honorable-mention NAIA all-American last year, had 51 goals and 15 assists in his career at OCU.

Lee, a senior midfielder from Cumming, Ga., recorded two goals and two assists for OCU. Lee, an all-conference selection this year, had three goals and three assists in his three-year career with the Stars.

Taylor, a junior defender from Liverpool, England, had three goals and three assists. Taylor, a two-time all-SAC pick, helped the Stars post seven shutouts this fall.

The Stars were 15-5-1 and made the regional championship game this past year.

Forwards: Frank Toscano, Huston-Tillotson; Ryan Trudgian, Oklahoma City; Sullivan Silva, Oklahoma Baptist; Eric Ouedraogo, Southern Nazarene.

Midfielders: Houston Lee, Oklahoma City; Cameron Doom, Southern Nazarene; Andrew Shakarji, Southern Nazarene; Mark McCormick, Texas-Brownsville.

Defenders: Andy Taylor, Oklahoma City; Adam Barnes, Oklahoma Christian; John Hangar, Southern Nazarene; David Purser, Texas-Brownsville.

Player of the year: David Eguren, Southern Nazarene.

Coach of the year: Mark Persson, Southern Nazarene.
