SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. ? Chelsea Ledbetter led the way with 19 points in Oklahoma City University?s 68-63 win over John Brown (Ark.) on Saturday at Murray Sells Gymnasium.
Ledbetter, a 5-foot-8 sophomore from Norman, Okla., also had a team-high four assists and two steals. Ledbetter hit 6 of 8 from the floor and 3 of 5 shots from beyond the 3-point line as she played all 40 minutes.
Alexandra Kotta, a 5-11 senior from Germantown, Md., had 14 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Stars.
OCU, ranked second in NAIA Division I women?s basketball, improved to 14-0, 3-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. John Brown fell to 4-9, 1-1.
?Chelsea may be a sophomore, but we expect her to play like a senior,? OCU coach Rob Edmisson said.
The Stars hit 59.1 percent from the floor in the first half, putting together a 33-26 halftime advantage.
OCU?s shooting percentage dropped to 44.4 percent in the second half as John Brown outscored OCU in that period 37-35.
