THE MATCHUP: Oklahoma City University?s women visit Oklahoma Baptist, ranked 24th in NAIA Division I.

ABOUT THE STARS: OCU won its 14th game in a row with a 78-58 victory over Oklahoma Christian on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena to become 19-2, 10-0 in the SAC. Mariam Sy, a 6-foot-4 senior from Mali, West Africa, led with 24 points and eight rebounds. Alexandra Kotta, a 5-11 junior from Germantown, Md., had 15 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks. The Stars were tied with Oklahoma Christian at halftime, but outscored OC 48-28 in the second half.
Sy averages 22.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.52 steals a game. Paty Silva adds 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.14 steals a game. As a team, the Stars lead the NAIA in 3-point field-goal percentage (41.4) and rank fourth in overall field-goal percentage (47.9). OCU is ranked third in NAIA Division I and was selected to finish second in the conference preseason coaches poll.
OCU leads the overall series with Oklahoma Baptist 29-16. The Stars won both their games against OBU last season.

ABOUT THE LADY BISON: Oklahoma Baptist is 18-4, 6-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference after beating St. Gregory?s 56-49 on Thursday at St. Gregory?s. Dilenny Castillo, a 5-10 junior, had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Castillo leads OBU with 14.1 points and 7.1 rebounds a game. Oklahoma Baptist was predicted to finish fifth in the preseason.

ABOUT THE COACHES: Rob Edmisson has 329 victories in 16 seasons as a head coach. Edmisson, a graduate of Bethany (Kan.), came to OCU after a stint as an assistant at Oklahoma State. He won 200 games at Hutchinson (Kan.) and 110 as a high-school coach in Kansas.
John McCullough is 112-58 in his sixth season at Oklahoma Baptist. McCullough has a 147-127 record in 10 seasons as a head coach. He was the 1979 Big Eight most valuable player at Oklahoma.

QUOTABLE: "Oklahoma Baptist, playing them at their place will be a challenge. They?ve already gone to Oklahoma Christian and beat them on their floor. They started with 13 wins in a row, but they?ve plateaued since they entered conference play and lost a couple of games. They?re very capable and we know it?s going to be a battle to go in there and win." ? Edmisson on OBU

"Our kids take 3-point shots when the opportunities present themselves. We don?t force up bad 3s. We have two or three kids that are very capable of hitting 3s. They do a great job of being selective with the shots they take. It?s not something that is a focus of ours, in fact, we focus on playing inside out with our all-America post player (Mariam Sy). We focus more on getting the ball inside, but when you have a player capable inside, it opens up shots outside." ? Edmisson on leading the nation in 3-point shooting percentage
