BARTLESVILLE, Okla. ? Oklahoma City University overcame a slow start to defeat Oklahoma Wesleyan 84-45 in women?s basketball Tuesday at Mueller Sports Center.
OCU turned a 12-point halftime lead to more by outscoring Oklahoma Wesleyan 45-18 in the second half.
Zanita Johnson and
Alexandra Kotta led OCU with 17 points each.
Mikelle Brown added 15 points, while
Romana Vynuchalova had 14 points and nine rebounds. Johnson, a junior from Tulsa, Okla., also had seven assists and five steals.
The Stars, ranked third in NAIA Division I, went to 5-0, and Oklahoma Wesleyan dropped to 3-6.

Rob Edmisson said. ?We had a couple of players play at a high level.?
OCU shot 44 percent from the field, 33 percent from 3-point range and only 60 percent from the free-throw line.
?The outcome is positive,? Edmisson said. ?We?re still trying to get our team to understand the value of each possession and the value of playing at a high level.?
The Stars visit Central Oklahoma at 7 p.m. Saturday in Edmond, Okla.
