OKLAHOMA CITY ? Oklahoma City University dropped its regular-season women?s soccer finale 1-0 to Oklahoma Christian on Tuesday night.
The match was scoreless for the first half with neither team gaining a foothold. Oklahoma Christian, ninth-ranked in NAIA, broke through in the 65th minute.
Stephanie Duncan sent a long pass into the box from the right side. Taryn Caylor fielded the pass and scored past OCU?s Alycia Allenby to give Oklahoma Christian the 1-0 advantage that would be the final margin of victory.
OCU fell to 13-4-1, 10-3-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Oklahoma Christian, the conference champion, finished the regular season at 16-0-2, 12-0-2.
The Stars advance to the NAIA Region VI tournament. OCU plays Texas Wesleyan at 1 p.m. in Fort Worth, Texas in the first round.
