OKLAHOMA CITY ? Oklahoma City University defeated St. Gregory?s 4-1 in women?s soccer Saturday at Stars Field.
Sarah Leonard contributed a goal and an assist for OCU.
Haley McIntosh scored the first goal for OCU only 4:11 into the game.
Jennifer Crawford made it 2-0 at 48:11 when she dribbled near the right side of the penalty box, then fired and found the far side of the net.
Leonard connected with
Sara Faily to make it 3-0 Stars. Leonard hit a pass across the goal that found Faily on the far end of the goal near the penalty box.
Leonard, a freshman from West Yorkshire, England, got underneath a rainbow pass by
Kara Nimz from nearly 30 yards out. Leonard put OCU up 4-0 at the 71:02 mark.
The Stars recorded 28 shots to St. Gregory's five.
"We got some girls forward and made some things happen," OCU coach
Brian Harvey said. "Sarah has had a very good week. It meant a little more because her father was here watching the game."
OCU went to 9-2-1, 7-1-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. St. Gregory?s dropped to 1-12, 0-9.
The Stars face Southern Nazarene at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Stars Field.
