OCU advances in SAC Tournament with dramatic 2-1 win

OKLAHOMA CITY ? Erin Heath finished off a dramatic Oklahoma City University comeback in the Stars? 2-1 victory over St. Gregory?s on Friday in the Sooner Athletic Conference women?s soccer tournament at Stars Field.
Heath, a freshman from Mustang, Okla., stuck the ball into the net inside the box with 1:21 remaining in the game. Jennifer Crawford set Heath up by dribbling around a defender and crossing the ball to Heath.
?It was awesome to finish on that note,? Heath said. ?Jenny had such a great effort to dribble all the way around the corner. That was a long run for her.?
Heath said that OCU coach Brian Harvey has been asking his team to pass the ball more around the goalbox. Heath said Harvey walked up to Heath after the game and asked, ?How did you score that last goal??
OCU advanced to a SAC Tournament semifinal game 2 p.m. Monday at Stars Field against Oklahoma Christian. Oklahoma Christian beat USAO 2-0 on Friday to improve to 11-7-1.
St. Gregory?s scored in the 25th minute and led until the 85th. At the 85:26 mark, Erika Garbrecht scored off Jessica Caudle?s corner kick to tie the score 1-1.
?Everything that could have gone wrong that first half did,? Heath said. ?We didn?t come out and take this as seriously as we should have.?
The Stars, ranked 23rd in the NAIA, improved to 15-2-1. St. Gregory?s fell to 4-12-1.
