OCU Women Blank Bacone, 3-0

OKLAHOMA CITY ? The Oklahoma City University women?s soccer team picked up its second-straight victory with a 3-0 win over Bacone, this afternoon. The victory also was the second time this season that the Stars held an opponent scoreless.

Jennifer Crawford ignited OCU (3-1-2) with a goal near the 11th minute, taking a shot at the net from inside the Warriors? box. It was the second goal of the season for the freshman from Owasso, Okla.

Holly DeRousse made it 2-0 with a goal off a penalty kick near the 81st minute. Amanda Jones, who has scored eight goals on the year, capped the Stars net production with a goal right before the final buzzer.

OCU started the season not scoring a goal in its first two games. Since then, the Stars have produced 17 goals in the last four contests.

Megan Griffin recorded the shutout, as the goalkeeper finished with four saves and the OCU defense allowed only five Warrior shots.

The Stars host St. Gregory?s in a non-conference matchup on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m.
