OKLAHOMA CITY ? The Oklahoma City University women?s soccer team improved its overall record to 9-3-4 with an overtime victory against USAO this afternoon, 2-1.
Amanda Jones scored the winning goal in the 97th minute of the contest to claim the win for the Stars.
Jones collected her 12th goal on the season, which leads OCU, as well as her second game-winning shot on the year. The sophomore nailed the net shot after
Whitney Ward?s attempted boot went off the post, and Jones collected the ball close to the ball and produced the game-winner.
Tiffany Treadwell knotted the game at the 75th minute, after USAO (9-5-2) made a break for the goal. Treadwell?s shot came off an assist from
Stefanie Tyree.
Emily Furr gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at halftime, connecting on her free kick near the 44th minute. This was the senior?s second goal of her career, as she scored her first goal as a Star earlier this year.
OCU will host Oklahoma Christian on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. This will be the Stars final home game of the regular season.
