OCU Women Fall in Double Overtime to John Brown

OKLAHOMA CITY -- A hard-fought battle came down to a late goal in the second overtime period, as the Oklahoma City University women's soccer team fell to John Brown, 1-0, and caused its season record to go to 5-2-3 and its conference record to 1-1.

JBU's Kristin Snyder scored the only goal, taking a pass from Nikki Ganter who was on the right side of the net and knocking in the score near the 104th minute of play.

Defense was solid by both teams, as Natalie Wall, JBU's goalkeeper, collected seven saves, and most of the Stars' shots she thwarted were hard line boots at the goal. Megan Griffin also kept the Golden Eagles at bay with four saves.

OCU also led John Brown in shot, recording 11 to the Golden Eagles eight. Amanda Jones led the Stars with three shots.

OCU will battle Southern Nazarene, in Bethany, Okla., on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m.
