When Scott Jackson came to Oklahoma City University to play soccer he came as a midfielder. This season Jackson switched positions. Jackson is now a starting forward, after playing midfield all his life.
Jackson, this week’s U.S. Army Super Star of the Week, has scored a goal in the last four games for the Stars.
“This has been an adjustment for me, but it seems to be working,” Jackson said.
Jackson has also been recovering from an ankle sprain that caused him to miss two games.
“My ankle is still nagging me,” Jackson said. “It holds me back at times.”
In last week’s game against St. Gregory’s, Jackson, a junior from Edmond, Okla., had a hand in two of the three goals. He scored the first goal assisted by John Dill, then scored the second one.
“I was just doing my job,” Jackson said. “We needed goals and I scored. We should have played better; we just couldn’t finish our shots as a team.”
After graduation, Jackson hopes to become a certified public account, then an entrepreneur and own his own business.
