Mitchell Eichenauer ended last season placing fifth at the NAIA wrestling championships to earn honorable-mention all-American. Eichenauer entered this season contender for the NAIA Championships finals in the preseason. 

Eichenauer, ranked fourth in the NAIA at 184 pounds, finished fourth at the Oklahoma Open this past weekend. Eichenauer, a sophomore from Lawton, Okla., is this week’s Super Star of the Week. 

“Mitchell did a great job and had an exceptional performance,” said OCU coach Archie Randall. “He did what we expected him to do.” 

Eichenauer defeated wrestlers Chris McNeil and Walter Clarke of Oklahoma State. Eichenauer lost to OU's starting wrestler Josh Weitzel, a two-time NCAA qualifier, then to OU's Josh Hinton in the consolation bracket.
