Oklahoma City University offers the breadth and depth of a private, comprehensive university with the atmosphere and spirit of a small liberal arts college, and is recognized for quality and affordability by U.S. News and World Report, America’s 100 Best College Buys and other national publications.

The university is supported by the United Methodist Church and its alumni and enjoys strong partnerships with the businesses of Oklahoma City and the state.

Oklahoma City University is located in the geographical center of Oklahoma’s capital city, which provides a wide variety of educational, social and cultural opportunities for the campus community. The university is 180 miles from Dallas and 350 miles south of Kansas City, Mo.

Oklahoma City University offers more than 60 undergraduate degree options in the schools of arts and sciences, business, music, American dance and arts management, religion and nursing. OCU also offers 13 graduate degrees, including the juris doctorate. OCU’s values-centered education helps students make the most of their college education, career and life.

Class sizes are small and yet students will find the diversity of courses offered at a large university. All courses at OCU are taught by faculty members, not graduate students.

Seventy-nine percent of full-time faculty members hold the highest degrees in their fields. They strive to inspire students and help them succeed by providing challenging, personalized instruction. The student-faculty ratio is 14 to 1.

The OCU college experience includes more than just taking classes. Outside the classroom, students have more than 60 social, religious, athletic, and cultural organizations and activities from which to choose. Students actively participate in service learning projects donating their time to make a difference in the community.

The physical campus provides the most up-to-date facilities such as the state-of-the-art Meinders School of Business and the new $38.5 million Bass School of Music building, which opened in spring 2006. Computer access is plentiful and convenient at OCU. Residence halls are equipped with Internet access and on-campus computer labs are available for student use. The Career Planning and Placement Center offers job search and career advice, tips for resume and letter writing and job postings. The Student Health Services Office provides students with heath assessment, treatment for minor illness and injury, wellness counseling and advanced care referral as necessary.

Students can be proud of the university’s tradition of athletic excellence. OCU has intercollegiate varsity teams in men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, golf, rowing, soccer, track and field and wrestling as well as baseball, softball and volleyball. The university has won 36 national championships since 1988. The women’s golf and women’s wrestling teams captured national titles in 2009.
