OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University had the best wrestling media guide cover in Division C in 2009-10 as awarded by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
OCU's media guides were produced by director of art and web services Kevin Miller and media relations specialist Rod Jones in the OCU communications department and director of athletic communications Rich Tortorelli and assistant sports information director Jeremy Stevens in the athletics department. Issei Aoyama designed the wrestling media guide cover.
The cover spotlighted NAIA all-Americans Corey Johnson and Nik Turner as well as Women's College Wrestling Association national champions Michaela Hutchison, Tessa Plana, Stefenie Shaw and Melissa Simmons. Hugh Scott Jr. provided the cover photography.
“A lot of the credit for our success should go to our campus marketing department, specifically Kevin Miller and Issei Aoyama and the entire staff, who were so involved in the creative side of our marketing efforts,” OCU athletic director Jim Abbott said.
OCU's wrestling media cover earned acclaim from CoSIDA for the second year in a row. OCU's 2008 baseball-softball media guide picked up a best cover honor from CoSIDA in 2007-08 for OCU's first best in the nation citation ever from CoSIDA.
Division C includes member schools in NAIA, NCAA Division III, NCCAA and NJCAA according to CoSIDA.
