NORMAN, Okla. – Clark Collier and Colin Nel of Oklahoma City University have been named PING NAIA men's golf all-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Collier, a freshman from Edmond, Okla., made the second team, while Nel, a senior from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, made the third team. Anthony Michael of the Stars was earlier named to the first team.
Collier finished third among the Stars with 74.68 shots per 18 holes. Collier took all-Sooner Athletic Conference honors and finished tied for fifth in the SAC Championships. He also tied for sixth in the Gailliardia Intercollegiate.
Collier was named to the NAIA all-freshman team.
Nel ranked second on the team with a 74.54 stroke average this season. Nel tied for 13th place and took all-tournament honors for the third time in his career in the NAIA Championships.
Nel had a career stroke average of 74.12. He made third-team all-American last season and second-team all-American as a sophomore. Nel aided the Stars in winning the 2006 and 2007 NAIA championships.
