AUGUSTA, Kan. – Vanessa Richartz paced Oklahoma City University in its season-opening meet in the J.K. Gold Classic on Saturday at the RAFT Golf Course.

Richartz, a sophomore from Norman, Okla., finished the 4,000-meter race in 17 minutes, 11.34 seconds. She placed 36th out of 59 runners in the college division of the race.

AUGUSTA, Kan. – Oklahoma City University will open the 2010 cross country season with the 62nd annual J.K. Gold Classic hosted by Wichita State on Saturday.

The race is located at the RAFT Golf Course, complete with rolling to hilly grass terrain. A total of 15 collegiate and nine prep teams will be participating in the competition, named for former WSU track and field head coach John “J.K.” Kornelson.

LUBBOCK, Texas – Vanessa Richartz made the finish line first among the Oklahoma City University women’s runners in the Sooner Athletic Conference cross country championships on Friday at Chaparral Ridge Golf Course.

Richartz, a freshman from Norman, Okla., placed 25th overall with a time of 21 minutes, 27.21 seconds in the 5,000-meter competition.

WINFIELD, Kan. – Vanessa Richartz put together a 21-minute, 12.87-second performance to lead Oklahoma City University in the NAIA Mid-States Classic.

Richartz, a freshman from Norman, Okla., placed 74th individually in the 5,000 meters as the Stars were 22nd as a team.

BETHANY, Okla. – Vanessa Richartz of Oklahoma City University ran the fastest time among the women’s runners in the Southern Nazarene Preseason Challenge on Saturday at Eldon Lyon Park.

Richartz, a freshman from Norman, Okla., recorded a time of 12 minutes, 6.19 seconds on the 3,000-meter course in the cross-country dual meet between OCU and Southern Nazarene.
