OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University has chosen Marty McCauley as coach of its powerhouse women’s golf program.

McCauley has spent the past five years as men’s golf assistant coach to Greg Sands at Texas Tech. The Stars finished as NAIA runner-up last season after an unprecedented run of five consecutive national championships.

Marie-Josee Desbiens led OCU to back-to-back NAIA championships, a national runner-up finish and three Sooner Athletic Conference titles.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Two-time NAIA coach of the year M.J. Desbiens has resigned as Oklahoma City University women’s golf coach to become the Arkansas State coach.

Desbiens guided the Stars to two NAIA championships, a national runner-up finish and three Sooner Athletic Conference titles in three seasons with OCU.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Laura Jones of Oklahoma City University became a three-time NAIA women’s golf first-team all-American, while the Stars’ Paige Martin also was named a first-team all-American.

Morgan Gay took honorable-mention all-American honors for the second year in a row for NAIA runner-up OCU.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – British Columbia won the NAIA women’s golf championships, ending Oklahoma City University’s unprecedented run of national championships Friday at Meadowbrook Golf Course.

Fourth-ranked British Columbia fired a 301-311-311-301–1,224 to top the second-ranked Stars, who shot a 308-302-314-307–1,231. OCU captured the last five national titles. Before OCU’s string, no school had won more than two NAIA women’s golf crowns in a row.

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Oklahoma City University enters the final round of the NAIA women’s golf championships trailing by one stroke to British Columbia through 54 holes Thursday at Meadowbrook Golf Course.

The second-ranked Stars will seek their sixth consecutive national championship when the fourth round tees off Friday morning.

The Stars, ranked second in the NAIA, are coming off an impressive performance in the final round to win the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships. OCU rallied from a six-shot deficit to edge Southern Nazarene by two strokes for the team title.

EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma City University captured the team title for the eighth consecutive year, while OCU’s Laura Jones became individual champion for the second year in a row in the Sooner Athletic Conference women’s golf championships Tuesday at River Oaks Golf Club.

The second-ranked and five-time defending NAIA champion Stars edged 12th-ranked Southern Nazarene by two strokes. Jones nudged by teammate Paige Martin in the individual race by three shots.

EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma City University held third place through 18 holes of the Sooner Athletic Conference women’s golf championships Monday at River Oaks Golf Club.

The Stars, ranked second in the NAIA, shot 320 to be six strokes behind first-day leader Southern Nazarene and five shots behind second-place Lubbock Christian (Texas).
